This year, take along a special travel notebook so you can jot down notes about your holiday memories – funny things the kids said, the bakery with the perfect cakes, or describe the sights, sounds and smells of the vibrant, dramatic sunset. Make sure you can hold onto your holiday for as long as you can by organising all of your summer holiday pictures in one place with a travel photo book. Pick a travel theme, scan mementos, and add personal captions to create a photo book you, and your family will treasure and enjoy the simple pleasures of your holiday again and again.

If you’re anything like me, you will have thousands of photos on your camera or phone and once every 6 months or so, you’ll do a batch of printing but never actually do anything with the prints! I know I’ve got so many photos that I haven’t even put in albums yet but I am making a real concerted effort to actually do more with my photos. With the help of Snapfish, I have created a few ideas that you might like to try out either for yourself or to use as gifts!
The first idea is the most simple; creating a memory book. This idea is something that I started when my husband and I started dating. I used a book he brought me home as a gift from his trip to Bali and then every time we did something or went somewhere I’d add it to the book. It’s got years of wonderful memories in that I can share with my children when they are older.
If you’re still lucky enough to have a holiday by the sea booked before the end of summer, then why not try underwater photography.
We at Snapfish have created some useful tips that will help you take some great underwater snaps!
Tip 1: Correct equipment: First and foremost you will need an underwater camera – there is no need to worry though as reasonable models can be bought at an affordable price. The benefit of buying an underwater camera is that these cameras don’t just work in the water, but they can also be used to take pictures of the exotic destinations you may visit.

We have just started a new feature wall in my house and the idea is that it will be a wall of mix and match photos, images and illustrations that reflect my family’s life and passions. It’s a feature wall that will gradually grow as we add more pieces of art and photos to it.
For the start of the wall we ordered four slim canvas prints – three that are 8×8” big and one that’s 12×12”. You can start with anything as long as you start in a place of the wall that allows you to expand the picture feature.
The canvas prints arrived a few days after I ordered them. They were individually packaged and well-protected. The small canvas prints were wrapped in plastic and the large one in a soft cover.
While not everybody enjoys having their photo taken, people do make the most fascinating subjects. Getting the perfect shot can take a little practice, so we’ve put together our top five tips to help you put friends and family in the frame with portrait photos:
- Is the light right?
It’s best to avoid bright sunlight, so start by looking for a shady place. This will soften the light and avoid dark shadows obscuring your shot. Look for areas of even lighting, such as next to a high wall, or when a cloud completely covers the sun. Dawn and dusk also create magical soft and subtle lighting that’s ideal for creating stunning portrait shots.
The beach provides a naturally beautiful canvas, and by simply using a variety of perspectives, you can create extraordinary pictures of your days by the sea. For example, snap a candid shot of your child or loved one unaware and enjoying the beach.
There are just a couple of days left to Father’s Day. The more organised among you will no doubt have sorted the presents for Dad and Grandad. The rest of you have a few more hours to come up with a thoughtful present or a treat.
Here at Snapfish, we worked with a group of amazing parenting and lifestyle bloggers to introduce some more creative ideas for Father’s Day gifts. The result was not only a bunch of great presents.
We picked 7 ideas which truly express the Snapfish spirit and we hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

Play with different angles
Even recognizable or frequently photographed locations can be even more eye-catching when you capture them from a fresh perspective. For example, shoot buildings looking up rather than straight on.
